Self Massage to Ease Away Daily Stress

Receiving monthly massages is a fantastic way to ease the stress of life. It’s also a wonderful practice to give yourself time to rejuvenate & regenerate.

However, in between massages we still deal with daily stress. Here are 2 QUICK and EASY self-massage techniques to reduce that daily tension that can seem to pile on. You can do these anywhere for a little piece of heaven.

QUICK & EASY Self-massage Techniques:
1) Hand Massage

This is especially good for those who type all day or perform a lot of manual labor. Hand massage helps to calm the body and relieve states of panic. That’s why some people ring their hands when they get nervous, it helps them to calm down.

  • Shake both hands out vigorously almost as if your trying to fling water off of your hands.
  • Then with the thumb of the right hand, push into the center of the palm, hold for an 8-count.
  • Now from the center, with a spiraling formation push and hold into the rest of the palm. Covering the whole surface of the palm with the thumb pressure. Make sure to spend extra time at the base of the thumb. If you find a tender spot, release & hold again for another 8-count until the spot eases.
  • With RIGHT hand, squeeze the whole LEFT palm & then each finger. Pull each finger with a quick release to clear the energy from the finger tips.
  • Now do this sequence on the RIGHT hand with the LEFT thumb.

2) Scalp Massage

If you have headaches or tend to do a plethora of thinking, this massage technique is for YOU.

  • Start at your temples with both hands and make small circles with the finger tips around the temples & down towards the jaw line. Adjust pressure as you need. Do this at least 5 times.
  • Starting at front hair line, take finger tips & inch by inch press into the scalp moving back towards the base of the skull. Do this at least 5 times.
  • “Combing the hair”. With finger tips slightly press the scalp & skim through the hair, starting from the front hair line to the back of the head. Do this at least 10 times.

Let these simple techniques be sweet breaks in your day. They should help keep you in a peaceful state in between your regularly scheduled massages.

Remember to stop & enjoy the moments along the way. May peace & light be your experience!
